What We Do
Apiary for Practical Support is the national hub for groups that provide logistical assistance to people seeking abortions.
As more states restrict and outright ban abortion, reproductive health becomes more difficult to access. This results in longer travel times and increased costs, disproportionately hindering access to care for the most marginalized. In response, practical support organizations (PSOs) have emerged as crucial resources for abortion seekers.
PSOs provide logistical assistance to people seeking abortions, including travel, lodging, food assistance, childcare or other basic needs. They ease the burden on abortion seekers by figuring out all the little details of what it means to travel to and from an abortion, and work in collaboration with abortion funds, clinics and other support services to ensure that people can get their abortion safely and with dignity.
Apiary provides operations and programmatic technical assistance to those groups to ensure that they have the tools and resources they need to continue supporting their clients. Through our unique programs and projects, we aim to help strengthen the fabric of practical support, making abortion more accessible to all.
All of our programs are free to the PSOs with whom we work. Many are underfunded, understaffed, and overstretched, and it’s our goal to ensure that every practical support organization and group has the tools and resources they need to support abortion seekers.

Technical Assistance
General Hivemind TA
Each person on the Apiary team offers customized technical assistance to Hivemind members based on their areas of expertise, or we offer reputable referrals when necessary.
TA Coalition
Monthly calls with other technical assistance organizations across the abortion access movement to coordinate efforts and ensure efficiency.
Tech Doulas
A new initiative in partnership with Techies 4 Reproductive Justice aimed at providing tech support to abortion access nonprofits and groups.
