Pollination Station
In the wake of the end of Roe v. Wade, many practical support organizations—already stretched thin—have been struggling with the sheer number of interested volunteers. So we took that on for them. Through our Pollination Station, we vet and train potential volunteers for PSOs.
They then participate in a series of three training sessions. Many participants are new to the abortion access movement—these in-depth sessions explore trauma-informed response, the fundamentals of reproductive justice, and the history and practicality of practical support. Upon completion, participants are then connected with their local PSO, allowing them to seamlessly integrate into becoming an effective volunteer.
Since the launch of the Pollination State in June 2023, Apiary has placed 235 vetted and trained volunteers with PSOs across the country. In 2024, we’re running five trainings, aiming to vet and train approximately 200 more participants.
