Celebrate & Defend Abortion Providers

Dear friends,

Like us, you may have celebrated the good news earlier this month that CVS and Walgreens will begin offering Mifepristone (AKA Mife, one of the pills used for medication abortion) in certain states where abortion is legal.

But what’s that lingering sense of doom you feel?

Oooh, right—We are just two weeks away from oral arguments at the Supreme Court for FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, the case that will determine whether Mife (which is used in more than half of all U.S. abortions) can be shipped through the mail by telehealth providers, even in states where abortion is legal.

The decision could result in a de facto national ban on abortion, not to mention untold amounts of conservative meddling in any other FDA-approved drugs, from contraception to HIV medication and more.

Here are four ways you can take action right now to support Mife access:

This Saturday was also Abortion Provider Appreciation Day, a day made in honor of Dr. David Gunn, murdered by anti-abortion extremists in 1993. As the years have gone on, providers have stood on the front line of abortion access, weathering all of the legal and political storms that have followed them. As restrictions on when and how clinics can offer procedures have grown, more and more providers and advocates have popped up to make sure that abortion pills are also widely accessible. Our partner spotlight this month is a dedicated provider that, as their name suggests, is one of those organizations.

Thank you, to all of the providers out there, for sticking with us and never giving up. We love you.

In solidarity,
