The Buzz 🐝 from Apiary
Happy Holidays!
This month Apiary had the opportunity to join a summit with abortion access groups from across the great state of Virginia (more on them below!), the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice, and Ipas Partners for Reproductive Justice for a deep dive into the reproductive rights and justice movement across Latin America. Inspiring doesn’t even begin to describe the leaders of the Green Wave, particularly the ways in which they have prioritized collaboration between different kinds of workers, ensuring that organizers are talking to providers, advocates and policymakers to practical support groups, you get the idea.
Ayé, Apiary’s very own Blueprint Manager and the brains behind this whole convening, was honored at the summit, and we left beaming with pride in them and feeling more committed than ever before to to Apiary’s work of fostering collaboration not only among the practical support community, but also among the larger abortion access landscape.
It was in this spirit of collaboration last February that Apiary created a new coalition for the organizations that provide technical assistance to clinics, funds, and activists across the U.S. What started as an informal check-in with our friends at the Digital Defense Fund and Forefront is now the TA Coalition (aka the TACOalition 🌮), whose members include the National Network of Abortion Funds, Abortion Care Network, Reprocare, In Need An A, Provide, and The Lawyering Project. And thanks to connections made at the Virginia summit, we are heading into our second year thinking more globally as we continue to share information, resources, and strategize together for the long haul.
Also this month, in case you missed it among seven thousand other emails on Giving Tuesday,Apiary launched our year-end fundraising campaign. Please consider making a donation, helping spread the word by sharing the campaign with friends and family, or even joining in the fundraising team effort as we work toward our goal of raising $30,000 by Dec. 31.

Partner Spotlight: Virginia is for lovers and some fierce abortion advocates
Place of my birth and home to my parents’ dairy farm, Virginia has a very special spot in my heart, now even more so because of the truly spectacular abortion funds, practical support groups, and organizers that have made this swing state a force to be reckoned with—and a great place to get an abortion.
This month, we’re celebrating the tireless work of Blue Ridge Abortion Fund, REPRO Rising Virginia, New River Abortion Access Fund, Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project, and Hampton Roads Reproductive Justice League. Check them out and donate if you can to keep them making good trouble together and getting Virginians the essential healthcare they need.
